Soap Making Training
Liquid Soap Making training was given to women IDPs living inside Darpaing IDP Camp of Sittwe. It was the first attempt to empower women IDPs to tap the underutilized power of women living inside the Camps.
To empower the potentials of human beings, particularly women empowerment is one of the prioritized agenda of MA-UK (Myanmar). This liquid soap making training is the second of its series of livelihood programs for IDP women group. The first livelihood training had been sewing training, which is being run successfully until now. Hundreds of school children living inside the IDP Camps are wearing School Uniforms sewn by these sewing groups now.
Similarly this is the second of its series of livelihood training, which will empower the IDP women
- To earn and stand on their own feet and to use their own products
- To give them moral support, relieve them of agony of entrapped life
- To encourage IDP women to adopt to clean and healthy living by using soap and shampoo in their daily life.
- To open their ways to market their products to outside their entrapped camps and to the donors, who include liquid soap and shampoo in their itineraries of hygiene kits
