Health Intervention

MA-UK has built an observatory hospital in Thek-ka-Pyn in Sittwe through its partner Mercy Malaysia. The hospital has become the only health access facilities for the IDPs and the Muslim villagers in Sittwe Township. Government doctors and nurses from the State Health Department are posted in this hospital on daily bases.
In the field of health sector: a survey carried out in 2015-2016 by the ministry of Health and Sports indicated that Rakhine State had the highest rate of global acute malnutrition. Taking these facts into consideration, we continuously supply rice and food packages to IDP Camps in turn. We regularly distribute food packages during (Ramadan) fasting periods, in addition to support with slaughtering Qurbani Cows for beef. We also support running two mobile clinics through Mercy Malaysia with the financial support of MA-UK.
